Fans furious over ‘Hakuna Matata’ reincarnation

The reincarnation of the popular and catchy song “Hakuna Matata,” from Disney’s upcoming live action film “The Lion King,” has faced severe backlash from the audience.

A clip of the song was showcased on the Jimmy Kimmel live show, but the fans were less than delighted. Although Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner did a pitch perfect rendition of the song, the visuals felt flat on the ground.

The Cartoon Brew -- an animation news portal -- did a shot by shot comparison of the original animation and the new version.

Fans were quick to identify that the scene looks really dull and uninspiring. The original was popping with energy and colour whereas the new version looked like a clip from the wildlife TV series Planet Earth.

Netizens expressed their fury online through a series of tweets and they are as follows:

“what if for the big funny song the animals walked around and then they walked around some more?? and did no other things?” https://t.co/iuCKBxIp0Z— David Sims (@davidlsims) July 11, 2019

it looks like a wildlife documentary but they put Hakuna Matata on top of it. we supposed to pay to watch that???

HOW are we supposed to believe that voice is coming out of that inexpressive, boring ass lion lmao this movie really did say realism over any kind of appeal didn’t it https://t.co/jN057dYBiy— Mariana Avila ‎⎊ (@marianaavilal) July 11, 2019

The Lion King is set to hit the US theatres on July 19.
