JU halls reopen tomorrow, classes from Dec 8
The university was closed for an indefinite period on November 5
Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have decided to reopen the dormitories from tomorrow and resume the classes and examinations from December 8 after 31 days.
Acting Registrar Rahima Kanij made the disclosure after a syndicate meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
A number of students and teachers of Jahangirnagar University had been demonstrating on the campus under the banner "Durnitir Biruddhe Jahangirnagar", demanding JU VC Farzana's resignation centring illegal financial favour to the campus Chhatra League.

Meanwhile, the protesting teachers and students have been continuing their agitation demanding resignation of the VC. They will hold a procession on the university campus tomorrow.
Professor Rayhan Rhyne, spokesperson of the protest, told The Business Standard that they welcome the decision of opening the university. But they will continue their protest.
"We will continue our movement until resignation of the VC," he said.
On November 5, the university was closed for an indefinite period after 20 people were injured in an attack on protesters, allegedly perpetrated by members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League unit of the university.
A syndicate meeting suspended academic activities and ordered the students to vacate the dormitories the same day.
