Police recovered the bodies of an elderly woman and a housemaid from an apartment in the capital's Mirpur area on Tuesday.

On information, police went to the flat on road no-2, House no-11, Block-A, in Mirpur-2 and found the bodies of the woman aged around 60 and the housemaid aged about 10 years old, said Khairul Amin, assistant commissioner (Mirpur Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately, he added.
