Bida leases out office floors to Beza, NSD
Under the agreement, Bida will lease out the 8th, 9th and 10th floors of its 12-storey Bida Bhaban to Beza, and the 11th and 12th floors to NSD
The Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (Beza) and National Skill Development Authority (NSD) on Thursday finalised an agreement with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) that will allow them to operate from Bida Bhaban.
Under the agreement, Bida will lease out the 8th, 9th and 10th floors of its 12-storey office building in Agargaon of Dhaka, to Beza, and the 11th and 12th floors to NSD.
Bida Bhaban was built on a one acre plot of land at a cost of Tk198 crore. Bida decided to allot floors to Beza and NSD in 2019 under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, so as to facilitate and accelarate investment in development.

Dr Ahmed Kaikaus, principal secretary to the prime minister, was the chief guest at the signing ceremony held at Bida's conference room. Md Sirajul Islam, executive chairman of Bida, presided over the programme.
Sirajul Islam said, "As Bida, Beza, and NSD all work on investment, it will be easier for the organisations to meet the government's vision and targets with improved investment services in operating from the same building."
Agreeing to Beza Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury's proposal, he said the name of Bida Bhaban should be changed to 'Investment Bhaban.'
As we all work on investment, there should be no objection to naming the building Investment Bhaban, added the Beza executive chairman.
Speaking as chief guest, Dr Kaikaus said, "Bida, Beza, NSD have all been doing similar work to develop investment. Now that companies are coming to the same building, investment services can be provided more quickly and easily."
Bida Secretary Dr Abdul Hamid, Beza Secretary Md Shoaib, and NSD Joint Secretary Md Nurul Amin, signed the lease agreements on behalf of their respective organisations.
