Mahfuza Nasrin, principal of the exam centre, Rajshahi Cantonment Public School and College, said she informed the teachers to keep an eye on the students as she became suspicious observing the behaviour and the physical growth of the students.

"On Sunday, one of the examiners finally noticed that there's no picture in one of the examinees' admit card. Upon questioning, she told that she was a student of class 7 and that she was hired to participate in the exam as Ananda School had very few students," Mahfuza added.

Abdus Salam said these two schools operate under the Reaching Out-of-School Children (ROSC) project of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. They have done it fearing that the projects might shut down due to having fewer students.

District Primary Education Officer Abdus Salam said that the authority will also file an official complaint with the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education in Dhaka to take action against the teachers of the two schools for their alleged involvement in enrolling fake candidates to attend PEC examination.
