Abahani Ltd continued their victory march and strengthened their place at the top of the points table as they comprehensively beat Brothers Union by nine wickets in a rain-affected affair in the ongoing Bangabandhu Premier Division T20 Cricket League 2019/20 in Mirpur.

In the 11-overs a side game, aggressive batting from Naim Sheikh and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim helped Abahani chase down 102 with seven balls to spare. Munim Shahriar was the only Abahani batter to get out. Mushfiqur took his team home scoring an unbeaten 37 off 21 while Naim was not out on 36.

Earlier, Brothers Union posted 101 for five in 11 overs thanks to late cameos from Alauddin Babu and Zahiduzzaman. Babu made 24 off 10 while Zahiduzzaman scored 25 off the same number of deliveries.

Earlier in the day, Old DOHS thumped Partex Sporting Club by 10 wickets and picked up their first win in the tournament.
