The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been postponed indefinitely as the number of Covid-19 cases inside the bio-bubble continues to rise. Two Bangladeshi cricketers- Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman participating in the IPL are in India now and they have to undergo a 14-day quarantine on arrival in Bangladesh, as per the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Since the Bangladesh government has closed flights and border with India due to the Corona outbreak in India, Shakib and Mustafizur will have to return home under special arrangements but there is no way they can skip the mandatory two-week quarantine.

Dr. Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam,  Director-general of the DGHS, said, "Shakib and Mustafizur must undergo the two-week quarantine. BCB appealed for remission of quarantine. But as per the rule, they have to complete the 14-day quarantine."

Earlier, BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, "We are trying to bring back Shakib and Mustafiz quickly. Now that everything is closed, they have to be brought through special arrangements. There have been talks of some new protocols from civil aviation. Let's see what happens. We hope we can make a decision soon."

Shakib, who played three matches for Kolkata Knight Riders, is currently in Ahmedabad. Mustafizur is in Delhi with his wife.
