Muktijoddha Sangsad Santan Command has demanded immediate arrest of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir in connection with the death of Mosarat Jahan Munia.

They also demanded the arrest of Anvir's mother and wife claiming they too were involved in the incident.

The demands were made in a human chain programme staged in front of the National Press Club on Saturday.

Mehedi Hasan, president of the organisation, said the dead body of Munia had clear signs of injury.

"Munia's apartment door was locked from the outside. We think it's clearly a murder," he said.

He further said the conglomerate was previously involved in other murders as well.

"This time they have killed a member of a freedom fighter's family. We think they will not be spared this time," he added.

Police recovered the hanging body of the 21-year-old college girl from the Gulshan-2 neighbourhood on 26 April.

Following her death, Munia's older sister Nusrat Jahan filed a case with Gulshan Police Station accusing the Bashundhara Group Managing Director of "abetment of suicide."
