Writ filed seeking to get all adults vaccinated

A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Monday seeking instructions to get all adults vaccinated for public welfare.

Supreme Court lawyers Barrister Humayun Kabir Pallab and Barrister Md Kawser filed the petition in the concerned branch as plaintiffs. They also demanded plans to fight the coronavirus, buying enough oxygen and vaccines.

Secretary of health ministry, Prime Minister's principal secretary, cabinet secretary, secretary of planning ministry, director of the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), and director general of Directorate General of Health Services have been named as defendants in the writ.

Bangladesh reported 101 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total death count to 11,053 in the country.

During the same time, 2,922 new cases were recorded with an infection rate of 13.33%. The country's caseload reached 7,45,322 as of Sunday.
