Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) on Thursday detained four alleged drug dealers and seized 1,000 bottles of phensedyl from their possession from Mohammadpur bus stand in the capital.

The arrestees were identified as Mohon, 25, son of Kurban Ali, Bablu, 28, son of Nur Islam, Asadul, 30, son of Shahidul, all three hailing from Jashore district, and Rubel, 27, son of Siddique Sheikh, hailing from Jhenidah.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-2 raided a bus of ‘Alpha Line’ coming from Benapole at Mohammadpur Bus Stand and recovered 1000 bottles of phensedyl, said Superintendent of Police Muhammad Mohiuddin Faruque, also company commander of RAB-2.

They also arrested the drug dealers.

“They used a dilapidated bus, which did not have any banner, to dodge law enforcers,” RAB official Faruque said.

During the primary interrogation, the detainees confessed to their involvement in supplying drugs in this fashion, and they have done it several times, he added.

Later, they were handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station.

A process was going on to lodge a case under Narcotics Control Act till filing of this report.
