Bangladesh army wins 115 gold medals at 9th Bangabandhu Bangladesh games

The Bangladesh Army has participated in 23 of 31 areas of competition and won 115 gold medals out of 318 competitions at the 9th Bangabandhu Bangladesh games 2020.

The Bangladesh Army has become the undefeated champion in team sports such as football, volleyball, hockey, rugby, and water polo, like in previous years. Bangladesh Army defeated Sylhet District 2-0 in the football final and became the champion in a competition where 74 teams participated in 4 stages. In volleyball, the army volleyball team defeated Bangladesh Air Force in 03-01 sets, and the Army rugby team defeated Dhaka district by 42-00 points.

In the swimming and water polo event, the army team defeated the Bangladesh Navy team by   4-0 goals, and the Army Hockey Team defeated the Navy Hockey Team by a margin of 06-08 goals said a press release from ISPR.

The army archery team won 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, their shooting team won 8 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals, and in golf, the army won 3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals. In the badminton tournament, the army team won 2 gold, 3, silver, and 4 bronze medals, becoming champions in all the games.

In the karate competition, the army karate team became joint champions with 9 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze medals. The Army Wushu team won a total of 12 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals in the men's and women's competitions.

In the cycling competition, the army cycling team won 18 gold medals in 21 events, setting 10 new national records. In weightlifting, the army men's and women's teams won a total of 1 bronze, 9 silver, and 10 gold medals, Setting a total of 21 new national records.

Participating in 23 of 31 disciplines and winning 115 gold medals, the Bangladesh Army has created a new record. In the 2013 games they won 69 gold medals.
