BTMA president re-elected, gets 2 new vice presidents

The Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) re-elected Mohammad Ali Khokon as its president for the term of 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 through an uncontested election on Saturday.

The election took place at the 38th annual general meeting of the association at its office in Dhaka.

Khokon is the managing director of Maksons Group. Its subsidiaries – Maksons Spinning Mills Ltd and Metro Spinning Ltd – are BTMA members.

Meanhile, Fazlul Haque, Abdullah Al Mamun (re-elected) and Rezaul Karim are elected unopposed as the vice presidents of the BTMA.

BTMA Election Board Chairman Abul Basher made the announcements regarding the newly elected president and vice presidents.

Md Fazlul Haque, founder of Ahmed Group, started the textile business in 1995. He is also involved with export-oriented garments business.

Abdullah Al Mamun is a director of Abed Textile Processing Mills Ltd, one of the top textile manufacturers and processing mills in the country.

Md Rezaul Karim is the managing director of Group Reedisha, one of the leading yarn and garment manufacturing groups in the country.

The unopposed elected directors are  Md Mosharraf Hossain, Md Monir Hossain, Hossain Mehmud, Md Saleuzzaman Khan, Md Masud Rana, M Solaiman, Syed Enayet Kabir, Engineer Rajib Haider, Engineer Ishtehak Ahmed Saikat, Monalisa Mannan, Mohammad Abdullah Jubayer, Jobayer Ahmed, A Rahim Chowdhury, ASM Rakibul Hasan, Syed Nurul Islam, Md Hafizur Rahman Khan, Md Faizur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mohiuddin Ahmed, Md Kamrul Hasan, Abdul Wadud Chowdhury, Mohammad Mohsin, Md Azhar Khan and Rashedul Hasan Rintu.
