Being the city's traditional gastronomy centre, Old Dhaka has everything you need to satisfy your hungry tummy, that too without putting a big hole in your wallet.

At 37/2 Kazi Alauddin Road in Nazira Bazar one is face with the same fate. The prospect is wide –  from Beauty's cool and refreshing lacchi and faluda to the juicy and tender kebabs and chaps of Bismillah Kabab Ghar, and of course, old city's age-old heritage; Bakarkhani.

Luckily for the residents of Kazi Alauddin Road, the alley is also home to several tea stores – some big and some small. But out of them, one shop in particular stands out raising the bar for its fellow competitions.

Starting its journey back in 2008 at the capital's New Market, Pannu Khan Tea Store has been selling good tea, which, over time, has become a fan favourite encouraging people to visit the shop from far-away places as well.

Currently situated at the Kazi Alauddin Road, it is pretty hard to believe, the 24/7 tea store has gained grand popularity in such a short time and that too in a place like the old city, facing dense competition from all sides.

The stalls menu includes a classic malai tea, a liquor tea for those trying to avoid milk and sugar, and last but not the least, a Pannu special tea all within Tk15, Tk10 and Tk30 respectively.

Now for some, it is difficult to imagine a cup of tea without a biscuit or a cake. Well fear not! The store even has arrangements for that as well. Biscuits, cakes and sweets are also available in case you need any.

So, the next time you visit the old city, drop by Kazi Alauddin Road for a warm cup of Pannu Khan's Tea. Surely, you would not be disappointed.
