He left for India from Hazarat Shahjalal International Airport around 9:30pm yesterday after Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and other senior officials saw him off.

Narendra Modi arrived in Bangladesh on 26 March to participate in the birth centennial celebrations of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.

During his visit to Bangladesh, the Indian Prime Minister met with President Abdul Hamid and held bilateral talks with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and the country's Golden Jubilee, Modi paid tribute to the country's Father of the Nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

He also paid visits to two mandirs in Satkhira and Gopalganj. Later, in Orakandi, Kashiani Upazila, Gopalganj, he encountered members of the Matua community.
