Earlier in the day, authorities closed Jahangirnagar University for an indefinite period after the ruling party's student wing Chhatra League attacked the protesting teachers and students today, leaving at least 20 injured.

The students were asked to leave the dormitories by 5:30pm on the day, many of them left the dormitories already. Meanwhile, authorities have given verbal permission to the students, who could not leave the halls, to vacate the dormitories by 10am tomorrow.

However, the protesters have refused to abide by and vowed to continue their movement demanding resignation of the VC.
