Awami Olama League demands to keep DSA unchanged
The speakers said those who want changes in the DSA are not Muslims and patriots
Bangladesh Awami Olama League, along with 13 other like-minded groups, demanded not to bring any changes to the Digital Security Act (DSA).
However, Islami Juba Andolon central committee demanded the abolishment of DSA on 4 March. Its Secretary General Atiqur Rahman Mujahid said, "Through the use of the Digital Security Act, attempts are being made to keep mum those who want to express their thoughtful comments in mainstream and social media."
Olama League today formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the capital around 10 am.

The speakers said, those who want changes in the DSA are not Muslims and patriots.
They further added that the context of the DSA was to stop atheist bloggers from writing Islamophobic, anti-Islamic writings and hurting religious sentiments in the name of science-minded writings.
"If this law is repealed, atheist bloggers will rise again, which would not be tolerated by 98 percent of devout Muslims in the country. Therefore, this law cannot be revoked," said the Awami Olama League leaders.
The speakers also said that Jamaat-Shibir and its allies want the Digital Security Act to be changed.
Party President Maulana Akhter Hossain Bokhari and General Secretary Maulana Abul Hassan were present at the human chain.
