‘A Quiet Place 2’ release date shifts to May

Paramount Pictures has moved up the release date for John Krasinski directed " A Quiet Place II" to May from the earlier release date of September.
Fans of "A Quiet Place" will be able to see the sequel in theatres sooner than planned, as the release date has been shifted from September 17 to May 28, replacing Mark Wahlberg's action thriller "Infinite," which was pushed back to September 24.
After Universal postponed "F9" from late May to June 25 earlier on Thursday, Paramount filled the Memorial Day weekend slot, reports Variety.

During the coronavirus pandemic, John Krasinski's film "A Quiet Place Part II," starring Emily Blunt, has been rescheduled several times.
The film was supposed to be released in March of last year, but it was postponed at the last minute as Covid-19 spread throughout the United States.
On March 8, days before the nation was forced to almost completely shut down, Paramount held a splashy red carpet premiere for "A Quiet Place Part II" in New York City.
"They always say good things come to those who wait," Krasinski wrote Thursday night on Twitter. "Well… I think we've waited long enough."
The schedule shift comes a week after Paramount announced intentions to shorten the theatrical window, with plans to put "A Quiet Place Part II," "Mission: Impossible 7" and other upcoming titles on the nascent streaming service Paramount Plus after 45 days on the big screen.
In "A Quiet Place Part II," the surviving members of the Abbott family — Evelyn (Blunt) and her children, Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe) and a newborn baby — continue living in silence to hide from creatures that hunt sound, this time while facing the terrors of the outside world.
