3-day int’l water conference kicks off
Participants to discuss the importance of water museums worldwide.
An international conference on water began on Wednesday aimed at exploring the ways to restore greenery and ensure the rights of rivers, water, and climate, by taking lessons from the crisis that the world is facing amidst Covid-19.
ActionAid Bangladesh arranged the virtual three-day-long International Water Conference on 'Zoom' titled ''Water, Climate and Justice in the Wake of Covid-19 Pandemic''.
During the discussion on the topic of ''Water Commons: Lessons from Covid-19'', participants discussed the importance of water museums worldwide.

Water experts from across the world, including academicians, environmentalists, and NGO workers, joined this conference, which will continue till 29 January.
The cover of the book ''Rights, Rivers and the Quest for Water Commons: The Case of Bangladesh'' written by Dr Imtiaz Ahmed, Professor of Department of International Relations, Dhaka University, was unveiled on the event's inaugural day.
The conference is focusing on water, the basic human rights of water, protection of reservoirs and rivers.
Former Chairman, National River Protection Commission, Dr Muzibur Rahman Howlader; Executive Director, Global Network of Water Museums, Dr Eriberto Eulisse; and Country Director, ActionAid Bangladesh, Farah Kabir also spoke.
