The commerce secretary was upbeat about the vibrant role of chartered accountants in foreign trade and commerce, especially in developing the economy.

He advised the ICAB professionals to increase their interactions with the government so that the objectives of the institute can be advanced.

He also advised them to accommodate various development agendas, like the infrastructure development projects under the Ministry of Commerce.
ICAB President Mahmudul Hasan Khusru; its vice presidents Sidhartho Barua, Md Abdul Kader Joaddar and Maria Howlader; and Chief Executive Officer Shubhashish Bose greeted the commerce ministry's delegation warmly.

ICAB Council members, its past presidents and senior officials of the commerce ministry were also present during the occasion.

Citing some of ICAB's landmark initiatives, to change the ecosystem of the financial arena of the country, ICAB President Mahmudul Hasan Khusru said, "There is an urgent need to strengthen ICAB's members so that they can contribute more to the economy and be aligned with the government's mission and vision."
