Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today handed over the National Film Award-2019, the highest recognition to the contribution of artistes in Bangladeshi films, to its recipients.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud handed over the certificate, replica and honorary cheque to the recipients of the film award in 26 categories.

The Prime Minister joined the award giving ceremony virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban here.

The Ministry of Information organized the function at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) here.

Earlier on December 3 last, the names of the recipients of National Film Awards 2019 were announced in 26 categories.

The awardees are: 

Lifetime Achievement Awards: Masud Parvez (Sohel Rana) and Kohinoor Akhter Suchanda.

Best Film category: No Dorai and Fagun Haway.

Best Documentary: Ja Chilo Andokarea

Best short film: Nari o Jibon

Best Director: Tanim Rahman Angshu for "No Dorai". This film has bagged a total of six awards.

Best Actor in the lead role (male): Tariq Anam Khan for the film "Abar Boshonto"

Best Actress in the lead role award (female): Sunerah Binte Kamal for "No Dorai"

Best Actor in Supporting Role: Fazlur Rahman Babu for film "Fagun Haway"

Best Supporting Actress: Nargis Akhter for film "Maya: The Lost Mother"

Best Villain: Zahid Hasan for the film "Shap Ludu"

Best Juvenile Artiste: Naimur Rahman Apan (film Kalo Megher Bhela) and Afrin Akhter (Jodi ak din).

Best Music Director: Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury Emon for the film 'Maya The Lost Mother'

Best Dance Director: Habibur Rahman for film 'Moner Matho Manush Pailam Na'

Best Singer: Mrinal Kanti Das (film Shuttle Train), while

Best Female Singer: Mamtaz Begum and Fatima Tuz Zahra Oyshee for their songs in film 'Maya The Lost Mother'

Best Composers: Plaban Quraishi and Syed Md Tanvir Tareq

Story Writer: Masud Patik

Screenwriter: Mahbub Ur Rahman

Dialogue Writer: Zakir Hossain Raju

Editing: Junaed Ahmed Halim

Best Art Instructor: Mohammad Rahmat Ullah Basu and Md Farid Ahmed

Acoustic: Ripan Nath

Cameraman: Suman Kumar Sarker

Costume: Khandaker Razia Afrin

Make-up: Md Raju

Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, and its Secretary Khaja Miah spoke at the function while State Minister for Information Dr. Md. Murad Hassan, MP, was present on the dais.

Among the recipients, lifetime eminent award winner film actor Masud Parvez (Sohel Rana) expressed his feelings on the occasion.
