Social Islami Bank holds annual business conference

The two-day virtual Annual Business Conference 2021 of Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) ended on Saturday.

Prof Md Anwarul Azim Arif, chairman of the board of directors of the bank, joined the conference as the chief guest, while Quazi Osman Ali, the bank's managing director, was in the chair, said a media statement.

At the conference, the bank's performance in the last year was discussed, while different business strategies for the year 2021 were adopted.

In his speech, Prof Md Anwarul Azim Arif said, "Now, the whole world, including our country, is going through a crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. To meet this challenge, we need to conduct banking operations by incorporating more modern and tech-based services." 

Quazi Osman Ali said, "The bank is gradually moving towards digital transformation. The area of the modern and tech-based services of the bank has been increased." 

"We have already introduced the e-Account service. With this service, customers can now easily open a bank account through a mobile at home. Some more tech-based services will be incorporated soon," he added.

Deputy managing directors, division heads, senior executives, and managers of 168 Branches of the bank also joined the programme.
