The Eastern Bank Ltd on Saturday launched a Mastercard prepaid card exclusively for the member organisations of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and their employees.

The members of the organization will not be required to open accounts with the bank to utilise the card. A cardholder can transact up to $30,000 in a year and can enjoy 24/7 money withdrawal facility from any Eastern Bank ATM in Bangladesh as well as Mastercard branded ATMs around the globe without any charges.

Ali Reza Iftekhar, managing director and chief executive officer of the Eastern Bank Ltd, Almas Kabir, president of BASIS, Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager of Mastercard Bangladesh as well as other senior officials from the respective organizations were present at the launch ceremony held in Dhaka.

The card comes with a host of exciting and unique features. It provides access to a network of more than 3,000 Mastercard partner outlets in Bangladesh offering a variety of privileges and discounts, as well as "buy one get one" offers at the leading hotels and resorts in Cox's Bazar and Sylhet.

A cardholder can also shop locally and internationally using this card.
