Panama-China port deal cancelled, international shipping giants get port
The Panamanian government has canceled the port agreement held by the China-linked company CK Hutchison. The Supreme Court declared the contract unconstitutional, after which the government took control of the ports. Temporarily, the management of the two key ports has been assigned to Maersk and MSC. CK Hutchison considers the cancellation illegal and has stated it will take legal action if necessary. This dispute has now become a focal point of tension between the United States and China. Analysts say the decision is not just about port management but also strategically important for limiting China's influence in global trade.
