Govt approves use of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine
Md Salauddin said the latest approval came following a meeting of the emergency expert committee at the DGDA
The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has approved the emergency use of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in the country.
Md Salauddin, deputy director of the DGDA, confirmed the information to The Business Standard on Thursday night.
The development came three days after the authorities cleared the way of importing the vaccine from India.

Md Salauddin said the latest approval came following a meeting of the emergency expert committee at the DGDA.
"We have approved the vaccine for emergency use as the Medicines and Health Care Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) of the United Kingdom approved it," he added.
Beximco has a deal with Serum Institute of India to import the Covid vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca.
