Washington DC mayor extends public emergency for 15 days 

Washington has extended 15 days of public emergency state after the unruly pro-Trump supporters barged into the capitol hill on Thursday. 

The chaos resulted in rioting and violence and until now, four women were killed in firing, reports India Today. 

According to AP, the police have arrested 30 people so far for violating the curfew that was imposed following the rioting by Trump supporters.

"Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has extended the public emergency order -- which includes the ability to call curfew -- for 15 days, or until January 21, the day after President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration," Bloomberg reported.

Earlier in the day, thousands of angry supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol and clashed with police, resulting in casualty and multiple injuries and interrupting a constitutional process to affirm Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election.

Reports suggest that the police were outnumbered by the maskless protesters and had a tough time in managing the mob.

Hundreds of protesters breached security and entered the Capitol building where US lawmakers were going through the process of counting and certifying the Electoral College votes.

Vice President Mike Pence and lawmakers were evacuated to safe locations.
