Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Wednesday said that four places have been selected as inter-district bus terminals to bring order in public transport system.

The places are- Birulia, Hemayetpur, Keraniganj and Kanchpur.

The decesion has been taken under a project to re-arrange bus-routes.

The mayor earlier mentioned that bus route rationalisation activities will be apparent within the next year.

A  preliminary proposal to reduce the number of bus routes from 291 to 42 cluster routes in the capital, and to form 22 companies with 2,500 bus owners, has been submitted to the Bus Route Rationalisation Committee, he said on 10 November.
