Police on Sunday detained 14 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami's female student wing Islami Chhatri Sangstha from Pabna/ TBS

Police detained 14 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami's female student wing Islami Chhatri Sangstha and a college principal from a secret meeting in Pabna's Santhia.  

Being tipped off, police conducted a raid at a house of Monsurabad area in the upazila around 9:30pm Sunday and nabbed the activists for allegedly planning subversive activities, said Ibne Mizan, additional superintendent of Pabna Sadar Circle police. 

The detainees were brought to Pabna Sadar Police Station for primary interrogation, the ASP added.

He said the detained females are students of various colleges and universities, including Pabna University of Science and Technology and Pabna Edward College.

A large number of jihadi books were recovered from the house.
