Meanwhile, e-food, a concern of Evaly, will be the food partner of the opening and closing ceremonies of Digital World.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak joined the ceremony virtually as its chief guest.

Palak said stories of capabilities and achievements of Digital Bangladesh will be showcased in Digital World 2020.

"I invite everyone to participate in the digital world from 9 to 11 December. Evaly, the e-commerce platform of Bangladesh, has come forward as a 'Platinum Sponsor' to make our event a successful one. Congratulations and best wishes to Evaly, the e-commerce platform, for that."

Mohammad Rassel, founder and CEO of Evaly, said, "The work we are doing today as a technology company has been made possible by the current government building Digital Bangladesh. We, the e-commerce companies, are working on the basis of the dream of Digital Bangladesh that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has realised. We have shown our capabilities as e-commerce during Covid-19."

"Digital World 2020 will highlight many such capabilities and success aspects of the whole country. We are delighted and proud to be associated with the country's largest technology event. I would like to thank the prime minister, her advisors and all concerned, including the state minister for ICT, for giving us this opportunity," he continued.

Syed Almas Kabir, president of Bangladesh Software and Information Services (Basis); Madho Sudun Chanda, regional director, BCC; Mesbah Uddin, public relations manager of Evaly; Solaiman Hossain Shawon, staff correspondent (ICT) at Banglanews24; and others were present at the signing ceremony.

President Abdul Hamid will officially inaugurate Digital World 2020 on 9 December at 11am. A ministerial conference will be held on 10 December with the participation of ministers from different countries, where Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT adviser to the prime minister will be the keynote speaker.

This year's event will be screened off on 11 December at 5:30pm with the closing ceremony. Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Investment Salman F Rahman will be the chief guest. More than one million visitors and participants from home and abroad are expected to visit the Digital World 2020 virtual platform at this year's event.
