A Dhaka court has set 22 December for the hearing on the Gatco corruption case filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

ACC Deputy Director, Golam Shahriar Chowdhury filed a case against Khaleda Zia and her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko and 13 others at the Tejgaon Police Station on 2 September 2007.

According to the charge sheet of the case, the accused helped Global Agro Trade (Pvt) Co Ltd (Gatco) to manage the latter's container handling work at Kamalapur Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Dhaka and Chittagong port, causing a loss of Tk14.56 crore to the state.
