Huawei, ICT division partner in 4 tech exchange programmes
The agreement will help provide appropriate training to young students, researchers and inventors at the university level

Huawei and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division will exchange technology on strategic issues such as Big Data and AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT and Cloud Service Solutions to accelerate the growth of the sectors and enhance the skills of talented youth.
A memorandum of understanding was signed in the auditorium of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) at Agargaon in the capital on Thursday. The BCC and the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) will work with Huawei to implement these four ICT programmes.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak said, "All our initiatives and projects are youth, ICT and employment dependent. This agreement will enable us to provide appropriate training to young students, our researchers and inventors at the university level."
Noting that these programmes will provide an opportunity to experience the latest technologies invented by Huawei, he added the agreement will reduce the gap between industry and academia.
We are going to set up a special academy in some universities where our teachers and students will have the opportunity to connect the university with many institutions and to receive their financial support, he said further.
In his inaugural address, Zhang Zhengjun, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd, said the initiative would inspire the youth of Bangladesh to increase their skills in the ICT sector. As a result, the dream of building a digital Bangladesh will gradually come true.
Under the agreement, Bangladesh ICT Competition 2020, ICT Joint Innovation Centre, Huawei ICT Academy and Curing Bangladeshi Startup will soon launch four different programmes for students, researchers, universities, developers, start-ups and stakeholders.
The BCC will work with Huawei on the three events. BHTPA will assist Huawei ICT Academy in related work. The companies will be in charge of their respective project management for at least the next three years.
