Huawei returns to Bangladesh device market with 13 new products
Huawei Bangladesh Device Office introduced a range of smartphones, foldable devices, tablets, smartwatches and audio products, marking the company’s renewed push into the local consumer electronics segment
Chinese technology giant Huawei has formally relaunched its consumer device business in Bangladesh, unveiling 13 new products and announcing a nationwide distribution partnership as it seeks to strengthen its position in the country's competitive smartphone and smart device market.
At its "Now Is Your Spark" launch event in Dhaka on Sunday, Huawei Bangladesh Device Office introduced a range of smartphones, foldable devices, tablets, smartwatches and audio products, marking the company's renewed push into the local consumer electronics segment.
The relaunch follows several years of limited activity in Huawei's consumer device business in Bangladesh. The company said its products will now be available through official sales channels with warranty coverage, genuine spare parts and dedicated after-sales service.
"Our goal is to bring innovative products and intelligent experiences to Bangladeshi consumers through a stronger and more accessible ecosystem," said Eric Pang, country head of Huawei Bangladesh Device Office.
Huawei showcased its flagship Mate 80 Pro smartphone, Mate X7 foldable handset, MatePad 11.5 tablet, Watch Fit 5 Series smartwatches and FreeClip 2 wireless earbuds.
Company officials said the strategy extends beyond individual devices and focuses on building an integrated ecosystem linking smartphones, tablets, wearables and audio products.
Huawei also announced the appointment of DX Group as its national distributor, a move aimed at expanding its retail and distribution network across the country.
"Huawei is globally recognised for innovation and quality. We are excited to work together to make these products available to consumers nationwide," said Dewan Kanon, founder and chief executive officer of DX Group.
Industry observers view the move as part of Huawei's efforts to expand beyond its telecommunications infrastructure business in Bangladesh and re-establish its presence in the consumer technology market.
The event was attended by journalists, technology influencers, business partners and industry stakeholders, who were given hands-on access to the newly launched devices.
With the relaunch, Huawei is betting on its premium hardware portfolio, connected-device ecosystem and expanded distribution network to compete in Bangladesh's growing smartphone and smart consumer technology market.
