A Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mobile court on Sunday issued Tk286,000 in fines as 20 cases were filed in connection with the existence of mosquito larvae and other offences during a drive.

Aedes larvae was found in some 99 houses and establishments in DNCC areas on Sunday, the sixth day of a cleanliness drive led by the city corporation.

With an aim to protect the city dwellers from dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases, the DNCC launched the drive six days back.
