DU to hold no ‘D’, ‘F’ units’ entry test from next year
The move was taken to reduce the number of honours admission tests and stress of admission seekers
The Dhaka University (DU) administration has decided not to hold admission tests for D (integrated) and F (fine arts) units from 2021-22 academic year.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the university's Deans Committee chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman on Sunday.
The admission tests of the said units will be coordinated with 'A', 'B' and 'C' units.

It has also been proposed to change the name of B unit admission test under the Faculty of Arts.
Sources in the vice-chancellor's office said the move was taken to reduce the number of honours admission tests and stress of admission seekers.
However, the admission test for the 2020-21 academic year will be held according to the existing rules.
The entry test of Dhaka University was held on 13 September last year.
The date for admission test of this academic year is yet to be announced as the authorities are waiting for the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations' results.
The DU authority is set to decentralise the enrolment tests for the 2020-21 academic year to curb the spread of coronavirus. It slashed the total marks by half to 100.
A total of 20 marks will be reserved for evaluating each aspirant's score on the basis of results of School Secondary Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC).
Previously, 80 marks were allotted to evaluate SSC and HSC results.
This year the admission tests will be held on 80 marks. A Deans' Committee member, declining to be named, said 50 marks will likely be kept for the written test and 30 for Multiple Choice Questions.
In the last admission test, there were 45 and 75 marks for written and MCQ respectively.
