Bangladesh reports lowest single-day Covid-19 deaths since 12 May
The country’s death toll from the virus now stands at 6,049
Bangladesh has confirmed 13 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till Saturday 8am, which is the lowest daily death count in nearly six months.
Previously, the lowest number of deaths from the virus in a single day was 11, which was reported on 12 May.

Meanwhile, 1,289 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which takes the total number of novel coronavirus cases in the country to 4,18,764.
The latest day's infection rate was 11.29% of the total tests. The overall infection rate in the country to date was 17.23%, while the death rate was 1.44%.
Among the latest day's victims, 11 were men and two were women. Seven of the deceased hailed from Dhaka, one from Khulna, two from Sylhet, and three from Rangpur.
All of them died in hospitals.
Meanwhile, 11,419 samples were tested in 114 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 24,29,842 samples have been tested in the country so far.
During the same period, 1,541 patients were declared free of Covid-19, raising the total number of recoveries to 3,36,568 with an 80.37% recovery rate.
The gender breakdown of Covid-19 victims shows that 4,657 of the total deceased were men while 1,392 were women.
The country's first cases were reported on 8 March this year, and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
