NRBC Bank launches month-long entrepreneurship training in Kishoreganj
NRBC Bank PLC has launched a month-long entrepreneurship development training programme in Kishoreganj to equip 26 aspiring entrepreneurs with practical skills to establish and grow businesses at the grassroots level.
NRBC Bank Managing Director and CEO Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest at a hotel in Kishoreganj on Thursday, 17 September 2026, according to a press release.
The training is being conducted under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), a Finance Division project under the Ministry of Finance funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Bangladesh Bank's SME and Special Programmes Department is supervising the initiative.
Bangladesh Bank Additional Director and Project Director of the training programme Md Masum Billah attended the inauguration as the guest of honour.
Special guests included NRBC Bank Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer Md Shaheen Howlader; Bangladesh Bank Joint Directors and Deputy Directors of the training programme Ayub Ali and Mohammad Wasim; and NRBC Bank Head of MSME Division Md Ramjan Ali Bhuiyan.
NRBC Bank Head of Sylhet Zone Md Ariful Rahman presided over the event.
Participants will receive practical training in business operations and management, financial planning, marketing, market management, business expansion, and innovation. The programme aims to help them develop the skills needed to manage and grow their businesses.
Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan said, "This programme has created an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to gain the knowledge, training and financial support necessary to turn their business ideas into sustainable ventures. Through this month-long training, participants in Kishoreganj will acquire practical knowledge on business planning, financial management, marketing strategies and innovative entrepreneurship."
Md Masum Billah said developing skilled and innovative entrepreneurs was critically important for the country's economic development.
"The government has set a target of creating one crore employment opportunities. To contribute to this goal, Bangladesh Bank is implementing entrepreneurship development training programmes," he said.
"Upon completion of the training, trained entrepreneurs will have access to loan facilities through commercial banks to implement and expand their business initiatives," he added.
Bangladesh Bank and NRBC Bank jointly conduct similar entrepreneurship development training programmes regularly in different districts to support new entrepreneurs and generate local employment opportunities.
