3 'crude bomb' blasts reported on Dhaka University campus
Two consecutive explosions occurred in front of Jagannath Hall, followed by a third 8–10 minutes later at an unidentified location on campus,
Three explosions were heard on the Dhaka University campus tonight (15 September).
The blasts were heard around 10:45pm, according to Dhaka University acting proctor Associate Professor Israfel Prang.
Speaking to The Business Standard, the proctor said, "The explosions were initially suspected to have been caused by crude bombs."

"Two consecutive explosions were heard on the road in front of Jagannath Hall. Another explosion was heard eight to 10 minutes later, but we have not yet confirmed where it occurred on the campus," he said.
"Our assistant proctors and police personnel are at the scene," the proctor added.
The latest incident comes hours after a crude bomb exploded in front of the main gate near the road adjacent to the Supreme Court in Dhaka this afternoon.
The explosion occurred shortly after International Crimes Tribunal-2 sentenced seven accused, including Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, to death in a case involving crimes against humanity committed during the July mass uprising.
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said the crude bomb blast near the Supreme Court was being investigated.
JCD holds protest rally at DU campus
The Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) staged a demonstration on the campus yesterday night protesting several crude bomb explosions.
Around 11:30pm, JCD leaders and activists marched through the campus before holding a brief rally in front of the Raju Memorial Sculpture at TSC. Leaders from different levels of the DU JCD attended the rally.
Addressing the rally, DU JCD General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon said the country's freedom-seeking students and people had shown a "red card" to those sent into political exile from Bangladesh on August 5, and would never allow them to return to politics.
"We must keep a close watch on Chhatra League activists who remained in the halls after making nominal resignations at opportune moments during the July movement, and we must uproot the fangs of their conspiracies," he said.
He also called on JCD leaders and activists to remain vigilant to protect the democratic journey achieved through the blood of martyrs Abu Sayed, Mugdha, Wasim and Rabbi.
Meanwhile, around 12:30am, leaders of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, the student wing of the National Citizen Party (NCP), met with the Dhaka University proctor to strongly protest the cocktail explosions on campus and demand an investigation into the incident.
