Dengue: 8 more deaths, 1,733 hospitalised in 24 hrs
Bangladesh recorded its highest daily dengue admissions this year, taking the death toll to 157.
Eight people died of dengue across the country in the last 24 hours, while 1,733 new patients were hospitalized, the highest daily admission figure recorded so far this year.
The latest deaths have taken the country's dengue death toll to 157, according to a press release issued today (14 September) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest daily admissions surpassed the previous highest figure of 1,571, recorded on 8 September.
Of the eight deaths, three were reported from Dhaka South City Corporation, three from Chattogram Division, one from Dhaka North City Corporation and one from Mymensingh Division.
Meanwhile, 1,282 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals in the latest 24-hour period, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 49,375.
The cumulative number of dengue cases reported across the country has reached 53,570.
