State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir today (16 September) underscored the importance of international cooperation and multilateral partnerships in advancing health and achieving sustainable development goals.
He held a meeting with Dr Ahmed Jamsheed Mohamed, representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO), at his office and discussed issues of mutual interest.

He appreciated the WHO's continued cooperation and support in strengthening the country's health sector and addressing emerging public health challenges.
The WHO representative briefed the State Minister on the organisation's ongoing and planned cooperation in Bangladesh, including support for health-system strengthening, capacity building, disease surveillance, and preparedness for public health emergencies.
Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening collaboration between Bangladesh and the WHO and agreed to continue close coordination on issues of common interest at national, regional, and international levels.
