Jamaat's Taher leaves Cumilla Circuit House over termites in allocated room

Jamaat MP Syed Abdullah Mohammed Taher left Cumilla Circuit House last night (4 September) and stayed elsewhere after allegedly finding termites throughout his allocated room, including on furniture and blankets.
According to party sources, Taher, Member of Parliament for Cumilla-11 constituency, arrived at the Cumilla Circuit House from Dhaka last night for the 11-party alliance's long march. The 'Radhachura-202' room had been booked for his overnight stay.
Around 10pm, when he went to rest in the room, he found numerous termites throughout it. He then asked the concerned employee to arrange another room and provide a replacement blanket.

However, no alternative room was arranged immediately. When no effective action was taken, Taher decided to leave the Circuit House and stay elsewhere without spending the night there.
Meanwhile, several photos claiming to show the room at the Circuit House have gone viral on social media, including Facebook. The photos show termites in several parts of the room.
Cumilla city Jamaat Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman said the Circuit House is a well-furnished, modern-standard building with government staff assigned to maintain it, but the accommodation arrangements for VIP guests are "extremely fragile."
"There I saw quite a dominance of termites. Therefore, despite waiting, our leader (Taher) spent the night elsewhere after leaving the Circuit House due to not getting an alternative room," he said.
The Business Standard made several attempts to reach Cumilla's Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) on his official phone for comment, but he did not respond.
