Mirza Abbas returns home after nearly 5 months of treatment abroad
He was flown to Singapore for treatment on 15 March after his condition deteriorated and was later taken to Malaysia for further treatment.
BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister's Political Adviser Mirza Abbas returned home yesterday (2 September) after nearly five months of medical treatment in Singapore and Malaysia.
BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
The flight carrying Abbas left Kuala Lumpur International Airport for Dhaka at around 7:30pm local time yesterday and landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 9:30pm.

On 11 March, Mirza Abbas suddenly lost consciousness while drinking water during Iftar. As his condition did not improve, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital later that night.
As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Singapore by air ambulance on 15 March for treatment. After receiving treatment there, he was later moved to Malaysia for further treatment.
Abbas was elected a member of parliament from Dhaka-8 in the 13th parliamentary election held on 12 February this year.
