DUET holds annual paper meet on research achievements
Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, hosted its Annual Paper Meet on Thursday (18 June) to showcase the outcomes and future prospects of research projects sanctioned for the 2025–26 academic year.
The event, held at the Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Academic Building, featured DUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Iqbal as the chief guest.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Arefin Kowser attended as special guest, while Professor Dr Md Anwarul Abedin, Director of the Research & Extension Office, chaired the programme.
Professor Dr Shahjalal Khandaker, Additional Director of the Research & Extension Office, delivered the welcome address.
Professor Dr Mohammad Iqbal highlighted that knowledge creation and technology-driven solutions through research can significantly contribute to the national industry, the economy and society.ns, patents and industry collaboration to elevate research standards to an international level.
The vice-chancellor expressed hope that the event would play a key role in deepening DUET's research environment and fostering innovation. The vice-chancellor said the event would increase research funding, enabling DUET to enhance its research activities, rankings, and publications.

Chair Professor Dr Md Anwarul Abedin emphasised the need for ongoing evaluation of research activities, experience-sharing and the practical application of research outcomes in society. Representatives from various departments and institutes presented the objectives, methodologies, key findings and potential applications of their projects.
After each presentation, participants engaged in question-and-answer sessions and open discussion, offering insights on interdepartmental collaboration and implementation of research findings.
Certificates were presented to research project directors at the closing session.
The event was attended by deans, department heads, institute directors, office heads, research project directors, associate project directors and faculty members.
