Bangladeshi youths to join Colombo research camp
A 17-member Bangladesh delegation of students, early-career professionals, young researchers and journalists is set to represent the country at the second International Youth Research Camp in Sri Lanka, highlighting Bangladesh's growing engagement in global youth research initiatives.
The six-day camp will take place in Colombo from 2 to 7 May.
Participants will join research seminars, training sessions, interactive discussions and experience-sharing activities. The itinerary includes a field visit to Galle, a historic coastal city, for fieldwork and exploration of cultural heritage sites.
Delegates will attend research and cultural sessions at the SAARC Cultural Centre, as well as an academic session at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies.
An interactive session with Toastmasters International Club members will focus on communication and leadership skills.
The closing ceremony at the Bangladesh High Commission in Colombo will feature presentations by participants on research insights and experiences. The programme will conclude with a certificate presentation.
The delegation will visit educational institutions, tourist sites and culturally significant locations across Sri Lanka, returning to Dhaka on the morning of 7 May.
The initiative is organised by the Bangladesh Research Society, a youth-led platform advancing research engagement in Bangladesh. Co-organisers include Help the Future, Village Empowerment, Run Globally, Global Institute for Research and Development, and Hetman Travel.
Jamuna Television and The Business Standard are media partners, with TBS Graduates supporting the initiative as youth partner.
Participants include Khandakar Ali Hossain, Sadia Afrin, Fahim Hasan Mahdi, Ahsan Ullah, Raziul Islam, Jaita Bepary, Srabani Chowdhury, Hamidul Huda Stevan, Rajat Shuvro Roy, Mahbuba Alam Munni, Md Mahir Tajwer, Sudipta Sarker Garba, Ishtiak Ahmed Dibbo and Fouzia Nahar.
