Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the police outpost at the hospital, said, "The woman reportedly had a severely infected leg and used to beg by crawling around the hospital premises.

He said the vehicle ran over the woman while turning, crushing her leg. She later died around 8:30am while undergoing treatment.
"The driver and the vehicle have been detained and handed over to Shahbagh Police Station. The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination, and efforts are underway to establish her identity," Faruk added.
