ACC sues former MP and wife for illegal assets worth Tk44 cr
The ACC had previously filed three cases against them for illegally occupying government khas land
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against a former MP and his wife for allegedly acquiring illegal assets worth around Tk 44 crore.
ACC deputy director Ali Akbar filed the cases against former Pirojpur-1 MP and district Awami League president AKMA Awal and his wife Laila Parveen on Wednesday at ACC Dhaka Integrated District Office.
ACC Public Relations Officer (Director) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the information.

The ACC had previously filed three cases against them for illegally occupying government khas land.
In one of the cases, Awal has been accused of abusing power and constructing a three-storey building in the name of his wife Laila Parveen on government khas land.
He is also accused of illegally occupying government khas land in Swarupkathi Upazila and for constructing a wall around government khas land in Pirojpur.
