Govt shuffles portfolios of 2 advisers, 8 state ministers

The government has restructured the allocation of responsibilities to two advisers to the prime minister and eight state ministers as part of the reshuffle in the governance.
The Cabinet Division issued separate gazette notifications, signed by its Secretary Nasimul Ghani, and outlined the portfolio changes yesterday (3 March).
According to the notifications, Tarique Rahman's political advisers, Nazrul Islam and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, have been assigned to the ministries of Agriculture and Industries, respectively. Both hold the rank of a minister.
State Minister Md Shariful Alam has been assigned responsibility for only the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, removing him from his previous duties of the ministries of Commerce, Industries, and Textiles and Jute.
State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has been given charge of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. He earlier held responsibility for this ministry along with the ministries of Agriculture and Food.
State Minister Habibur Rashid has been assigned to the Ministry of Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Division. He previously held responsibilities for the ministries of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping.
State Minister Rajib Ahsan has been placed in charge of the Ministry of Shipping and the Bridges Division.
Zonayed Saki, who previously oversaw both Finance and Planning, has been assigned only to the Ministry of Planning.
Farzana Sharmin, who earlier handled both the ministries of Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare, will now serve only as the state minister for Social Welfare.
State Minister Md Nurul Huq has been moved from his dual role in the ministries of Labour and Expatriates' Welfare to focus solely on the ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.
Bobby Hajjaj, who previously held a combined role in the Secondary and Higher Education Division, has been assigned specifically to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
