Govt to review and refine ongoing development projects: Saki
Upcoming projects will also be carefully considered, he said.
The government aims to maintain momentum while carrying out reviews and making necessary corrections and refinements of ongoing development projects, State Minister for Finance and Planning Zonayed Saki said today (22 February).
"The current government will review and assess ongoing projects in various ways. However, halting or slowing development is not its goal," he said while speaking to journalists during his first visit to the Ministry of Planning this morning.
Saki said upcoming projects will also be carefully considered.
"We will focus on how we can achieve collective improvement. How people can gain education, skills, and a sense of humanity – development plans must be designed from this perspective," he said.
"Our goal is to improve the quality of people's lives and bring qualitative change to the governance system of the country. Naturally, our plans must generate impact across the economy, society, and culture," he added.
He also stressed proper planning to make implementation easier. "In this regard, the Ministry of Planning will serve as the core support of the current government. Through its work, we aim to create opportunities to transform Bangladesh," Saki said.
On addressing inequality, the state minister said that those who create most of the country's wealth must receive their rightful share. "Equity means ensuring that all citizens receive a fair share of the nation's resources," he added.
