Modi to hold talks with Macron tomorrow, review India-France strategic partnership progress
The two leaders will also exchange views on issues of regional and global importance.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel tomorrow (17 February) to Mumbai, where he will meet French President Emmanuel Macron.
At around 3:15pm local time, Modi and Macron will hold bilateral engagements in Mumbai, when they will review the progress made in the India-France strategic partnership and focus on further diversifying it into new and emerging areas, an official statement said today. The two leaders will also exchange views on issues of regional and global importance, it added.
The event's date and timing coincide with the likely swearing-in of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman as the prime minister of Bangladesh.
India is sending Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to the swearing-in of Tarique. Bangladesh interim government Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus had invited the Indian PM to the event.
Macron will be on an official visit to India from tomorrow to Thursday (19 February) at the invitation of Modi to participate in the AI Impact Summit hosted by India, as well as hold a bilateral summit with the Indian PM in Mumbai.
This will be President Macron's fourth visit to India and his first visit to Mumbai, India's financial capital.
