Public support growing to form 'Humane Bangladesh': Jamaat chief at Chapainawabganj rally
Shafiqur Rahman also highlighted public frustration over decades of misrule, saying the people now seek change
A nationwide movement is emerging in support of building a "Humane Bangladesh" grounded in justice and fairness, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said today (5 February).
Addressing an election rally at Nawabganj Government College ground in Chapainawabganj, Shafiqur Rahman said, "We want to establish justice based on fairness everywhere. The same justice that applies to a ruler will also be applied to ordinary citizens."
The rally was organised by the Chapainawabganj district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami.
He added, "Once justice is ensured, extortion will not be tolerated anywhere in the country, and all avenues of extortion will be closed."
Shafiqur Rahman also highlighted public frustration over decades of misrule, saying the people now seek change.
Addressing the youth, he said, "Young people will sit in the cockpit of Bangladesh and lead the country forward at rocket speed, while we will sit in the passenger seat."
On women's issues, he promised that Jamaat-e-Islami would ensure rights and dignity at all levels of society and security.
The rally was presided over by Chapainawabganj district Jamaat Ameer Abuzar Ghaffari. Jamaat-nominated candidates for the district Dr Keramat Ali (Chapainawabganj-1), Dr Mizanur Rahman (Chapainawabganj-2), and Md Nurul Islam Bulbul (Chapainawabganj-3) also spoke at the event.
