Shah Cement presents ‘CELENCIA for Future Civil Engineers
'Shah Cement Presents CELENCIA: Season 01', a premier national-level initiative for undergraduate civil engineering students in Bangladesh, was successfully held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Nazrul Islam, PE, Faculty Advisor, ASCE Student Chapter, BUET. Special guests included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rupak Mutsuddy, Faculty Advisor, ACI BUET Student Chapter, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering, BUET, and Prof. Dr. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Head, Department of Civil Engineering. Over 1,000 aspiring civil engineers from more than 30 universities across the country participated in this competitive event.
Organized jointly by the ACI BUET Student Chapter and the ASCE Student Chapter, BUET, under the Department of Civil Engineering, BUET, the summit served as a robust national platform for students to enhance their analytical skills, engineering knowledge, and creative thinking through competitive, technology-driven, and innovative activities.
Representatives from Shah Cement present at the event were Business Development Manager Engr. Rashebul Hasan, Deputy Brand Manager Tasnuva Haider, and Assistant Manager, Brand Activation Chowdhury Rokib Uddin.
With a total prize pool of BDT 260,000, CELENCIA: Season 01 featured multiple competitions, including Draft It!, Brainy Blitz, Mechanics Mayhem, Eco-Concrete, House of Trusses, Paper Tower Challenge, and Poster Paradox.
Participants showcased exceptional skill and creativity across competitions. In Mechanics Mayhem, Mohammad Imran (DUET) emerged as champion, with Azmain Mottaqi (BUET) as first runner-up and Md. Naimul Islam Talukder (BUET) as second runner-up. Draft It! saw Meherunnesa Sadiya (BUET) claim the championship, with Md. Nafiz Monowar (BUET) and Fahmid Yamin (BUET) finishing as first and second runner-ups, respectively. In Brainy Blitz, Md. Shahriar Alam Plabon (BUET) won the championship, followed by Azman Mottaqi (BUET) and Simanto Das (BUET). Poster Paradox champions were Team Ashwinder (BUET), with Green Lanterns (IUT) as first runner-up, Celerion (BUET) as second runner-up, and Fracture Finders (Sylhet Engineering College) receiving an honorable mention. Paper Tower Challenge was won by Team A22 (DUET), with Trio Builders (IIUC) and Thrivers (DUET) as first and second runner-ups. In Eco-Concrete, The Power Puff Girls (BUET) claimed the championship, followed by Loser's Club (BUET) and Obscura (BUET).
Through widespread participation, competitive spirit, and innovative thinking, CELENCIA: Season 01 successfully established itself as a national platform for civil engineering students, fostering inter-university collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the development of future leaders in engineering.
