Abducted Feni trader rescued from Chattogram

A fish trader, abducted from Feni on Monday, was rescued from the Baroiarhat area of Chattogram by a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) team today.

RAB sources say the victim, Mir Hossain, a wholesale trader at the Feni Municipal Fish Market, was abducted from the Dewanganj area of Feni on Monday.  Later, the abductors demanded Tk2 lakh as ransom for his release. His family paid Tk1 lakh to free him, but he was not released. Then they immediately informed RAB.

A RAB-7 team raided the Baroiarhat area of Chattogram and rescued Hossain from there. The law enforcers also recovered Tk1 lakh ransom money and arrested two people, identified as Saju Uddin, 28, of Baniakhali village and Fakhruddin, 27, from Jorarganj in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram.
